وجاءت الاحتجاجات التي نظمتها مجموعة من الناشطين الداعمين للقضية الفلسطينية، على خلفية اتهامات بأن أبناء كلوديا يخدمون في الجيش الإسرائيلي، بالإضافة إلى ادعاءات بتقديم خدمات سياحة صحية أو مساعدة لجنود إسرائيليين، وتنظيم رحلات سياحية للإسرائيليين إلى تركيا.
An Israeli citizen was attacked in Istanbul during a clash with pro-Palestinian demonstrators
Claudia Medina Halfon was confronted and harassed by protesters while shopping at İstinyePark mall. A group of about 25 activists surrounded her, filmed her up close, and waved Turkish and Palestinian flags.
They chanted “Down with Zionism!” and “We don’t want Zionists in our country,” and called her a “terrorist” and a “child killer.”
Mall security stepped in, backed her into a corner, then escorted her out of the building.

وأثارت الوقفة الاحتجاجية حالة من التوتر والارتباك داخل أروقة المركز التجاري، مما دفع شهود العيان إلى إبلاغ السلطات الأمنية، حيث هرعت قوات الشرطة إلى الموقع على الفور للسيطرة على الموقف وفرض النظام.
وفي إطار التدابير الأمنية المتبعة، أقدمت السلطات على إخلاء المجمع التجاري بالكامل من الزوار، في حين تولت عناصر الأمن حماية كلوديا مدينا وإخراجها من المبنى ونقلها بعيدا عن موقع الحدث.

Claudia Medina, a Turkish-born Israeli businesswoman who brings groups of Israelis to Turkey, was surrounded and attacked by an anti-Israel mob at a shopping mall in Istanbul. She doesn’t appear to have been physically hurt — just warmly welcomed by the local hospitality committee.
In the videos, they accused her of bringing Israeli soldiers to Turkey.
