أُسدل الستار على نزاع استمر سنوات بين المخرج الألماني الشهير فيم فيندرس والممثلة الألمانية ناستاسيا كينسكي بشأن أحد مشاهد فيلم «الحركة الخاطئة» الذي عُرض عام 1975، وذلك بعد موافقة المخرج على حذف المشهد محل الخلاف وتقديم اعتذار رسمي للممثلة.
وأعلنت كينسكي وفيندرس، في بيان مشترك نشر على الموقع الإلكتروني لمؤسسة فيندرس، أن المخرج اعتذر للممثلة واستجاب لطلبها بحذف المشهد الذي اعترضت عليه، مؤكدين رغبتهما في ألا يطغى هذا الخلاف على الإرث الفني للفيلم أو على علاقة الصداقة التي جمعتهما لسنوات.
وكانت كينسكي قد ظهرت في أحد مشاهد الفيلم عارية الصدر، وهو مشهد يستغرق نحو دقيقتين ويظهر خلاله رجل يصفعها ثم يربت على وجهها، وقالت الممثلة إنها طالبت على مدى سنوات بحذف هذا المقطع، مشيرة إلى أنها كانت تبلغ من العمر 13 عاماً فقط وقت تصويره، وكانت ترتدي ملابس داخلية سفلية فحسب.
ومع تصاعد الخلاف، استعانت كينسكي بمحام أعلن عزمه اتخاذ إجراءات قانونية رسمية ضد فيندرس، قبل أن تنتهي الأزمة بالتوصل إلى اتفاق يقضي بحذف المشهد من النسخ المتاحة للجمهور.
وكان فيلم «الحركة الخاطئة» قد سُحب بالفعل مطلع يونيو الماضي، حيث طلبت مؤسسة فيندرس من محطات التلفزيون ومنصات البث وشركات التوزيع وقف إتاحته إلى حين تسوية القضية وإجراء التعديلات اللازمة.
وفي اعتذاره، قال فيندرس: «بوصفي الشخص الوحيد الذي لا يزال موجوداً من المسؤولين عن فيلم «الحركة الخاطئة» في ذلك الوقت، أدرك أن ناستاسيا كينسكي كان ينبغي أن تحظى بحماية أفضل آنذاك. ولهذا أعتذر إليك يا ناستاسيا، دون أي تحفظ».
وكان المخرج قد أقر خلال حفل توزيع جوائز السينما الألمانية في مايو الماضي بأنه لو أُعيد تصوير الفيلم اليوم لما قدم ذلك المشهد بالطريقة نفسها، لكنه أوضح في الوقت ذاته أنه لا يستطيع محاسبة نفسه بمعايير الحاضر على عمل أنجزه في شبابه وفي ظل ظروف ومعايير كانت سائدة آنذاك، معتبراً أن القضية تفتح نقاشاً أوسع حول كيفية تعامل صناع السينما مع الأعمال الكلاسيكية وإرثها الفني.
ويُعد فيلم «الحركة الخاطئة» أحد أبرز أعمال السينما الألمانية الجديدة في سبعينات القرن الماضي، وهو مستوحى بصورة فضفاضة من رواية «سنوات تعلم فيلهلم مايستر» للأديب الألماني يوهان فولفغانغ فون غوته.
وساهم الفيلم في ترسيخ مكانة فيندرس بوصفه أحد أهم مخرجي جيله، كما شكل إحدى البدايات البارزة في المسيرة الفنية لناستاسيا كينسكي، التي أصبحت لاحقاً من أشهر الممثلات الألمانيات على الساحة العالمية.
The curtain has fallen on a years-long dispute between the famous German director Wim Wenders and the German actress Nastassja Kinski regarding a scene from the film “The Wrong Move,” which was released in 1975. This comes after the director agreed to delete the disputed scene and issued an official apology to the actress.
Kinski and Wenders announced in a joint statement published on the Wenders Foundation’s website that the director apologized to the actress and responded to her request to remove the scene she objected to, affirming their desire for this dispute not to overshadow the film’s artistic legacy or the friendship that has united them for years.
Kinski appeared in one of the film’s scenes topless, a scene that lasts about two minutes during which a man slaps her and then caresses her face. The actress stated that she had demanded the removal of this clip for years, noting that she was only 13 years old at the time of filming and was wearing only lower undergarments.
As the dispute escalated, Kinski enlisted a lawyer who announced his intention to take formal legal action against Wenders, before the crisis ended with an agreement to remove the scene from the versions available to the public.
The film “The Wrong Move” had already been withdrawn in early June, as the Wenders Foundation requested television stations, streaming platforms, and distribution companies to stop making it available until the issue was resolved and the necessary amendments were made.
In his apology, Wenders said: “As the only person still alive among those responsible for the film ‘The Wrong Move’ at that time, I realize that Nastassja Kinski should have been better protected back then. Therefore, I apologize to you, Nastassja, without any reservations.”
The director acknowledged during the German Film Awards in May that if the film were to be shot today, he would not present that scene in the same way, but he clarified at the same time that he cannot hold himself accountable by today’s standards for a work he completed in his youth under the circumstances and standards that prevailed at that time, considering that the issue opens a broader discussion about how filmmakers deal with classic works and their artistic legacy.
“The Wrong Move” is considered one of the most prominent works of the New German Cinema of the 1970s, loosely inspired by the novel “Wilhelm Meister’s Apprenticeship” by the German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
The film helped establish Wenders’ status as one of the most important directors of his generation and marked one of the notable beginnings in the artistic journey of Nastassja Kinski, who later became one of the most famous German actresses on the global stage.
