وضع الفنان المصري صبري عبدالمنعم حدّاً للتكهنات التي رافقت ظهوره اللافت على منصة «تيك توك»، موضحاً أن دخوله إلى عالم المحتوى الرقمي لم يكن بحثاً عن الشهرة أو مجاراة للموضة السائدة، بل جاء نتيجة ظروف مالية قاسية فرضتها عليه الحياة في الفترة الأخيرة.
وكانت هذه الخطوة قد أثارت جدلاً بين متابعيه، إذ رأى البعض أنها لا تنسجم مع مسيرته الفنية الطويلة الممتدة منذ ستينيات القرن الماضي، والتي ارتبطت بأعمال حملت طابعاً جاداً ورسائل فنية مؤثرة.
وفي تصريحات إعلامية، كشف عبدالمنعم أن أزمة مالية حادة دفعته إلى البحث عن مصدر دخل جديد، بعدما تعرض لعملية نصب أفقدته جانباً كبيراً من مدخراته. وأوضح أن شخصاً كان يضع فيه ثقة كبيرة استولى على شقته الخاصة، التي كانت تمثّل بالنسبة له ثمرة سنوات طويلة من العمل والادخار.
وأشار الفنان إلى أنه وجد في «تيك توك» وسيلة مشروعة تتيح له تأمين حاجاته اليومية من خلال تفاعل الجمهور مع محتواه، مؤكداً أن العائد الذي يحققه يكفيه للعيش بكرامة بعيداً عن الاستدانة أو طلب المساعدة من الآخرين.
The Egyptian artist Sabry Abdel-Moneim has put an end to the speculation that accompanied his striking appearance on the “TikTok” platform, clarifying that his entry into the world of digital content was not in search of fame or in line with current trends, but rather a result of harsh financial circumstances imposed on him by life recently.
This step had sparked controversy among his followers, as some felt it was inconsistent with his long artistic career that has spanned since the 1960s, which has been associated with works that carry a serious tone and impactful artistic messages.
In media statements, Abdel-Moneim revealed that a severe financial crisis pushed him to seek a new source of income after falling victim to a scam that cost him a significant portion of his savings. He explained that a person he had placed great trust in seized his private apartment, which represented for him the fruit of many years of hard work and saving.
The artist pointed out that he found in “TikTok” a legitimate means that allows him to secure his daily needs through audience interaction with his content, affirming that the income he generates is sufficient for him to live with dignity, away from borrowing or asking for help from others.
